The curriculum is designed to engage our students through the use of interesting and relevant topics covering all sub-strands of the National Curriculum; fostering an appreciation of different cultures and the structure of language. Students follow a rigorous curriculum in which they follow pre-determined topics to expand their vocabulary and abilities in all 4 skills areas. There is a great emphasis on detail, the ability to converse in German coherently, to expand on opinions and speak/write/listen/read about current world affair topics. Students are assessed on regular basis through marking and immediate feedback, short and skills focussed activities in lessons help students to work with their strengths and work to improve other skills. |
Students take 4 exams at the end of the 2 year course in each of the skills areas, Reading, Writing, listening and speaking. |
