The Workplace is a newly opened AP Free school, focussing on our founding principles of rigour, enterprise, industry driven & partnerships and offering high quality vocational education in industry standard settings alongside high quality delivery of Maths, English and Science. The school offers full-time education to students who require a curriculum beyond the mainstream offer. The School is part of the SABDEN MAT, a successful MAT specialising in SEMH and AP education.
We are looking to recruit a Teaching Assistant 3 – Mentor, into our expanding team. The role of the Teaching Assistant 3 - Mentor is a key position, supporting a number of vocational areas and core subjects. Mentors offer classroom support, pastoral support and work with class teachers to develop meaningful programmes. Mentors support the vocational tutors as part of the tutor team and act as a supportive contact for all students.
The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic and supportive person with an interest in at least one of the following areas: Construction/Automotive/Hospitality/Core & Academic subjects. Whilst experience of working with young people would be advantageous, the ability to develop and sustain meaningful relationships is key. You should be willing to learn, and keen to develop and appropriate training will be provided for the right candidate.

The hours of work are Monday – Friday, from at least 8.30am –3.30pm (working hours to be discussed at interview and agreed on successful appointment). We are a friendly and supportive team, with additional benefits, such as free daily lunch.
