37hrs per week Monday to Friday - Flexible working pattern (some split shifts & weekend working)

St Mary's School, in Horam, is part of the SABDEN Multi Acadmey Trust and are seeking to recruit a Maintenance Caretaker, to provide a responsive caretaking and maintenance service, to supervise cleaning staff and to ensure high standards of caretaking/cleaning throughout the school site, providing a clean and safe environment for users of the school buildings, fleet and grounds.

The Maintenance Caretaker will ensure that the premises are maintained and cleaned to the highest standards and have the ability to deal with unexpected problems that may arise. The successful applicant will provide high quality support to the other assistant caretaker and will supervise cleaning staff.

The post holder will be expected to undertake both regular maintenance and routine cleaning duties associated with this role. The post holder must be able to work effectively and supportively as a member of the school team. Applicants should have a willingness to participate in further training and development opportunities offered by the school to further knowledge.

The succesful candidate will need strong IT skills for communicating, reporting, contacting contractors. An experience of working in school environment and knowleged of maintaining records would be a strong advantage. They will also need the ability to work effectively within an environment where pupils may display challenging behaviour.
