37hrs per week Monday to Friday - Flexible working pattern (some split shifts & weekend working))

We are looking to recruit a Site Maintenance Lead to work across SABDEN Multi Academy Trust, to support the delivery of a responsive caretaking, cleaning and maintenance service at Cuckmere House School, Seaford & St Mary’s School, Horam.
The post holder will take responsibility to provide a high level of maintenance service at each school and will work closely and support the maintenance caretakers. They will be required to carry out regular monitoring checks and inspections of the premises, equipment and grounds, keeping accurate manual and electronic records, where appropriate and also recording onto the school’s facilities management computer software, in line with Trust policies. It is essential for the post holder to have a valid driving licence.
The post holder will also take the lead on health and safety operations at each site and ensuring all issues are logged and escalated appropriately. They will also act as a project manager for small maintenance contracts and improvement schemes.
The ideal candidate should have significant experience with working in a building maintenance setting or significant experience of carrying our maintenance work (e.g., carpentry, tiling, plumbing, plastering) and have the ability to operate and understand small industrial/electrical/mechanical systems and equipment. They will need to have a sound understanding of the main Health & Safety Regulations, including COSHH and risk assessment, and how they apply this in a school environment.
They will also need experience of line management of staff and supervision of contractors, along with excellent communication skills: verbal, written and interpersonal. They will need to be flexibility and the ability to adapt the working schedules to meet the needs of urgent work, whilst ensuring lower priority work is kept up to date. As well as the ability to prioritise workload, using their own initiative and being part of a team.
They will need excellent organisation skills, IT skills and experience of keeping accurate record and reports. They will also need the ability to work effectively within an environment where pupils may display challenging behaviour.
